The main problem with windows is windows and how it differs from everything else, however alacritty performance was way better then what default windows provided me with last time I checked, and since the project is still in "beta level of readiness" bugs are expected (read README), also having bugs doesn't mean that they wouldn't be solved in a future. The windows support was initially a community driven, that being said the Windows wasn't a main goal iirc, however I don't see any problem with having it here and I find it very useful, will explain later.
